If you’re looking for accommodation with stunning panoramic views of orange orchards, Bangdoi Orange Farm is an excellent option.
The farm is open for visitors to explore the orchard, take photos, pick fresh oranges, and stay overnight in cozy guesthouses or dome tents.
Prices start at approximately 2,200 THB per night.
Not only being a scenic farm stay, Bangdoi is also an origin of a traditional Assam or Miang tea roasting facility. It serves as a tea tasting spot and learning center for tourists that interested in the process of harvesting and transforming tea into various products. The farm sources raw materials directly from local gardens and community producers to pass into a range of village-made teas such as white tea, green tea, black tea, yellow tea, honey tea, Gaba tea, and vanilla-scented tea.
Moreover, the farm features a vanilla plantation where visitors can learn about planting, care, pollination, curing, and transforming vanilla into various products. These are including vanilla beans, vanilla extract, and vanilla syrup, all of products which are available for purchase.
Tea picking techniques and harvest periods depending on the intended type of tea:
For Silver Needle White Tea, only the single top bud is picked.
For Bai Mu Dan White Tea, one bud and one leaf are selected.
For Green and Black Teas, typically one bud with 2–3 leaves is harvested.
The tea-picking process is the first and crucial step that determines the final character of each type of tea.
